[6:07] Vedis Seid: I always like to start off with - The Philosophy Behind Legacies: we created this place to have a space where we (adults) could escape the ridiculousness of the internet and stresses of "players". We created Legacies Beyond Darkness to come relax and enjoy each other, leaving RL behind, letting our minds open and walls disappear, let our imaginations explode and live our dreams and fantasies free of judgment. We are based on historical face and ambiance. A full immersion extremely dark extremely mature dark role play sim that exists IC 24/7....a world, a place our home, our way of life. All life is welcome here every creature is welcome here. There is no safe zone here, there is no limitations support here aside from TOS and Linden Law, everything and anything can, will and does happen here.
[6:07] Vedis Seid: I would like you to read that, and let it sink in. It's got some very important points in it.
[6:08] Vedis Seid: 1. We don't allow OOC Drama here. It defeats the whole reason for us being here.
[6:09] Vedis Seid: 2. We are Immersive. That means no OOC in local chat. Can somone tell me the ONLY OOC post we allow in Local chat?

[6:13] Vedis Seid: Kinda. OOB is about giving your character a reason to not join the RP. So you can RP gazing off into space, falling inward, sleeping...etc.
[6:13] Tark Ashmoot: Calling for help in a situation where the character couldn't communicate/using IM to call for reinforcements.
[6:13] Vedis Seid: That's not what OOB is about.
[6:14] Tark Ashmoot: No, God moding. Answering Fox

[6:14] Vedis Seid: OOB stands for Out of Body. It is used to give yourself a 10 minute break. *smiles* no, your fine Tark.
[6:14] Vedis Seid: 3. We don't allow RP limits here. The ones we do allow relate to Linden's Terms of Service.
[6:15] Vedis Seid: Like Rape, it must be agreed to in IM before it happens.
[6:15] Vedis Seid: if it is crutial to the story, but they do not wish to actually RP it, it will become an 'assumed.'

[6:16] Vedis Seid: The other one is Perma-death. If you are planning to kill a character permanantly, it MUST be agreed upon
[6:17] Vedis Seid: There is a difference between defeat, and death however. And most times when you die, the storyline carries you to being resserrected, but if this character will cease to exist, it's good form to make sure that is what they want.
[6:18] Vedis Seid: Now....Let's move on to Godmodding and metagaming. These are two things we really, really don't like here.
[6:19] Vedis Seid: What is Godmoding...genericlly?

[6:20] Vedis Seid: Talulah, that's metagaming. But that's important not to do too.
[6:20] Vedis Seid: Jenna, Yes. Godmodding is not giving folks a chance to respond to your actions, or rping their reactions as part of your post

[6:22] Vedis Seid: When you RP here, it's important to use the /2 prefix or your meter won't recognise your RPing and you won't get your exp points.

[6:28] Talulah Fallen: Is there certyain places for certain types of chars? I mean I can guess about who would live in Vamporium
[6:29] Fox Onizuka: Not really, and VAmporium is just a name

[6:29] Fox Onizuka: More humans live in vamporium than vampires
[6:29] Vedis Seid: No, actually there are no set places for specific races

[6:29] Fox Onizuka: with the exception of the Mer in a sense
[6:30] Vedis Seid: Though you will notice teh closer you are to the docks you get, the more run down things get.
[6:30] Vedis Seid: We also allow squatting. If you are level 5 or up you are allowed 50 prims.
[6:30] Vedis Seid: The problem with squatting is if your home is rented, you get kicked out.
[6:31] Fox Onizuka: I thought you get a prim count increase when you hit 20, or was that changed?
[6:31] Vedis Seid: That was changed.
[6:31] Vedis Seid: We are quite low on prims.
[6:31] Fox Onizuka: Ive noticed stuff owned by people I ahvent seen in wolrd that seem have have been there for awhile
[6:32] Vedis Seid: Ok. let's talk dice rolls. This is the one we get the most questions about...
[6:32] Fox Onizuka: they dont even ahve the group tags any more

[6:33] Vedis Seid: Ok. Dice rolls are actually pretty easy so long as you remember the flow of dice.
[6:33] Vedis Seid: there are a few questions you have to ask yourself.
[6:34] Vedis Seid: 1. Does the meter have a built in ability for what I am trying to do?
[6:34] Vedis Seid: Click on your hud.
[6:34] Vedis Seid: Then click Abilities.
[6:34] Vedis Seid: Use these first.
[6:34] Vedis Seid: http://larps.net/spells.php
[6:35] Vedis Seid: that tells you what each ability does.
[6:35] Vedis Seid: (ignore the 'spells' bit in that, these abilities can be physical OR magical.)
[6:35] Vedis Seid: If you don't yet have the spell, you can't do the action.
[6:36] Vedis Seid: 2. If there is no metered ability for it, are you trying to Harm, Assist or Discover?
[6:36] Vedis Seid: if any of those fit what your doing, use Player vs. Target. or PvT
[6:37] Vedis Seid: If you are not trying to hurt or assist. If you are doing something like making a potion or creating a portal or whatnot, use PvA or Player vs Abilities.
[6:38] Vedis Seid: Typically, PvA is not going to impact another character. there are some instances where it will, but most times, PvA is to create or for specific race traits.
[6:38] Vedis Seid: 3. If you are looking to effect the environment, or restrain someone where you are not trying to hurt them, but your not really assisting them, that would be PvE, or Player vs Environment.
[6:39] Vedis Seid: If you need to Roll a PvA or a PvE, you will need an Story Teller.
[6:39] Vedis Seid: just ask for one in OOC chat.
[6:39] Vedis Seid: *whew!* Ok, any questions on that? I know I kinda rushed through that.
[6:40] Fox Onizuka: Maybe it would be a good idea to provide examples of situations that have occured in the past.

[6:42] Vedis Seid: If you are interseted in learning more about the meter, we hold meter classes here as well. It's more in depth and usually gives examples.
