[16:58] Vedis Seid: I like to start with the whole idea behind Legacies, It's a good place to start, kinda gives you a feel of what we do here and why.
[16:59] Vedis Seid: - The philosophy behind Legacies: we created this place to have a space where we (adults) could escape the ridiculousness of the internet and stresses of "players". We created Legacies Beyond Darkness to come relax and enjoy each other, leaving RL behind, letting our minds open and walls disappear, let our imaginations explode and live our dreams and fantasies free of judgment. We are based on historical face and ambiance. A full immersion extremely dark extremely mature dark role play sim that exists IC 24/7....a world, a place our home, our way of life. All life is welcome here every creature is welcome here. There is no safe zone here, there is no limitations support here aside from TOS and Linden Law, everything and anything can, will and does happen here.

[17:01] Vedis Seid: So...the key points here are, "Legacies is a historical sim, we don't allow technology that would be out of place here. Guns must be approved. If you have a question about something's appropreateness, give us a shout."
[17:01] Vedis Seid: It is fully immersive, so there is no OOC chat in local, does anyone know the one OOC statement we allow on the floor?

[17:03] Vedis Seid: give your character a reason to be 'gone' for a bit, oob is for 10 minutes or less. If you need to be gone longer, excuse your character from the RP and go find a place to sleep.
[17:04] Vedis Seid: Just keep in mind, if your meter's on, your in play.
[17:04] Vedis Seid: period. Weather your at the keyboard or not.
[17:04] Vedis Seid: If you wish to affect a player that is afk, you will need an Storyteller however.
[17:04] Vedis Seid: Just call for one in OOC.

[17:06] Vedis Seid: We do not allow limits here. The only rules we have are 1. Everyone must play a character that is 18 or older.
[17:06] Vedis Seid: 2. Rape and Permadeath must be agreed upon OOCly or it doesn't happen.

[17:07] Vedis Seid: Can someone tell me what the Challange Rule is?
[17:07] Saori Aeon: Guessing that's about combat? You have to challenge someone to a fight and they have to accept?

[17:08] Vedis Seid: The challange rule states that before you attack someone, you must give at least two lines of short RP, or one paragraph of RP before hand.

[17:10] Vedis Seid: We allow squatting here. If you are over level 10 you can put down 50 prims.
[17:10] Vedis Seid: But if you wish to have more, we do have a TON of lovely rentals available.

[17:13] Vedis Seid: You can be kicked out of a building if your squatting, you can't be kicked out of a building if your renting...unless you do not pay your rent.

[17:15] Vedis Seid: It is not letting the other person respond to your actions, or dictating them for another person.

[17:16] Vedis Seid: *nods* Good rp will have only one 'respondable' action in it per post.
[17:16] Saori Aeon: Such as calling the effect of your action on them and not just your attempt to comit the action.

[17:16] Vedis Seid: Metagaming is a *wee* bit trickier...
[17:17] Vedis Seid: Metagaming is using OOC information ICly. Thus why keeping the line between OOC and IC is so important.
[17:17] Vedis Seid: Now. If you look above my head *points* you will see that on my meter I've got several pieces of information. Can you tell me what pieces you can use ICly?

[17:19] Vedis Seid: But yes, the title should be something that one can see or smell or feel about your character.
[17:19] Saori Aeon: How do I get ahold of that anyway? Is that the meter?
[17:19] Vedis Seid: Another thing I could do is say something like, "Covered in blood with a black eye." it's temporary and can be changed as needed.

[17:20] Vedis Seid: The meter is lovely, it has everything you need to RP really. *nods* You could say something like, "Speach slurred, unsteady."

[17:21] Vedis Seid: OOoh, good note for here. Your name doesn't have to be the same name as your av.
[17:22] Vedis Seid: and so long as you use the /2 bit before your posts, it will come up with the name on the meter AND give you exp points

[17:23] Vedis Seid: You don't need any other huds here but the meter, and the meter's radar.
[17:23] Vedis Seid: In fact, many other huds are banned here because they cause problems, and lag
[17:24] Vedis Seid: Soooo, speaking of the Meter, let's go over the bits and bobs of it.

[17:25] Vedis Seid: Once health is depleted, you are 'defeated' not dead, but knocked out.
[17:25] Vedis Seid: Strength is pretty obvious...it's how hard you hit, how easily you can lift things, etc
[17:26] Vedis Seid: Once life is depleted, your dead. dead, dead. You will need someone to ressurect you, or you can create another character or you can play a ghost for a while...whatever you like.
[17:26] Saori Aeon: I thought you had to concent to be permdead?
[17:27] Vedis Seid: Yup.
[17:27] Vedis Seid: Thus the options
[17:27] Vedis Seid: Hunger is how hungry you are.
[17:28] Saori Aeon: ..how does one get resurrected then? ..IC or OOC?

[17:28] Vedis Seid: Everything is done ICly here.
[17:28] Saori Aeon: So you have to rp like you had actually died.. :(

[17:28] Vedis Seid: But as I said, once you are dead, you have options, permadeath has to be agreed to, and if it's not, you can return

[17:29] Vedis Seid: Hunger doesn't start to affect your character until 500%
[17:29] Vedis Seid: So you can go a while without feeding, but your character woudl start to notice it eventually.
[17:30] Vedis Seid: We have lots of places to eat....as Fox knows.
[17:30] Fox Onizuka: I own half of them.
[17:30] Vedis Seid: You can also use /9bitethem to feed OFF someone, decreasing their health, and increasing yours a tiny bit.
[17:30] Vedis Seid: or you can do /9gorge to feed from your own power.
[17:30] Saori Aeon: Does it cost L$ to eat at places?
[17:31] Vedis Seid: nope, but it does cost RP coints.
[17:31] Vedis Seid: coins*

[17:35] Vedis Seid: Dual is the one I use, because I have talons.

[17:35] Fox Onizuka: I use sword because it better represents the bite of a 4 legged canine.

[17:41] Vedis Seid: Sheild protects you from damage, Anticurse protects you from curses. You have to be at a certain level to cast these two, so be careful till then.
[17:41] Vedis Seid: Armor, Sheild and Anticurse can all be depleated by fighting, or running into buildings or falling.
[17:42] Vedis Seid: You can buy Armor on the RP floor.
[17:42] Vedis Seid: it too can be depleated.
[17:42] Vedis Seid: any questions on that?

[17:42] Vedis Seid: You get Power by RPing in groups.
[17:42] Vedis Seid: The higher the level, the more power you get from them.
[17:43] Vedis Seid: the larger the group, the more power.

[17:50] Vedis Seid: Say for instance I wanted to push Inu up against the wall, I would use /9pushthem.
[17:50] Vedis Seid: That would be pushing with my hands OR with magic
[17:51] Vedis Seid: If you see an ability there that would suit your intended RP but it's NOT on your hud, you can't do it.

[17:51] Vedis Seid: guns are another matter entirely. I would have you speak with one of our weapons specalists for that.

[17:53] Vedis Seid: If what you are looking to do does NOT fit under abilities, you will move to the next option, please click the blue dice upon your hud.

[17:54] Vedis Seid: pretty simple really
[17:54] Vedis Seid: If you want to create a potion or a portal or something that doesn't affect another character, you can use PvAbilities. But call an ST first. They will help you through it.

[17:55] Vedis Seid: PvEnvironment is for affecting the sim itself, or if your not intending to hurt or assist another person.
[17:55] Vedis Seid: for instance a restrain.
