[5:01] Tamryn Khandr: Good Morning, I am Tam, a Moderator here in Legacies. Today we are going to speak on some tips that may help you with your RP here in Legacies.

[5:02] Tamryn Khandr: How many of you have spent time and lindens on what you want your character to look like?

[5:03] Tamryn Khandr: It is a rectorial question we all have....My point is we all imagine what our character looks like..what they wear...we breath life into them....
[5:04] Tamryn Khandr: Point....If someone walks up to you...take the time to see what they are wearing...what they look like....acknowledge it in some way in the rp.
[5:04] Tamryn Khandr: Example:
[5:06] Brawen walks up slowly...she has seen demons before...but not many that seem so muscular: Greetings..." she says tentatively: I am Lady Brawen.
[5:06] Maledicus: ((Maeglin Velde is In Character))
[5:07] Maledicus flashes his most disarming smile, pearly fangs gleaming. "Thanks...been working out."
[5:08] Tamryn Khandr: Second point is this: Sometimes there are changes in their appearance...maybe there are bruises...maybe their clothing is now torn..or their skin a totally different way....They want that noticed...it is a change in their RP plot..whether it is a sim wide one..or a personal one for them.
[5:08] Tamryn Khandr: any questions?

[5:10] Tamryn Khandr: Lets talk about a hard thing... Losing dice rolls...especially when it should be a simple thing..or something that effects your RP arch.
[5:11] Tamryn Khandr: The other day I tried for about 20 minutes to send a messaeg ICLy. Failed the dice rolls several times...it was to be honest annoying
[5:11] Tamryn Khandr: IT happens....
[5:12] Tamryn Khandr: Part of RP is thinking on your feet...but it also remebering your Human-- and maybe you need to take 5...while you think through and figure another way to make things happen you need to happen.
[5:13] Tamryn Khandr: How many of you haev failed dice rolls?

[5:15] Tamryn Khandr: Yes, it is universal....another thing that may affect your Rp - and is connected to this .....searching or looking Icly for something or someone..who or that affects your RP
[5:15] Tamryn Khandr: Lets look at some things we can do:
[5:16] Tamryn Khandr: 1. you created your character - look and remeber its strenghts- use those to find a way through the rp
[5:17] Tamryn Khandr: 2. Plan...and rp out other options for your character - sometimes through rp you can find someone who knows or gives you the plan you need
[5:17] Tamryn Khandr: 3. Be willing to go outside your comfort zone- try new things...or new people to rp with.

[5:18] Tamryn Khandr: 4. Use your characters weaknesses...
[5:20] Tamryn Khandr: Enviroment---- this place is littered with secret places....open places....places that can be used in unique ways. also there is events that can be used to or by your character to enhance your rp arch

[5:22] Tamryn Khandr: the sewers-- the ten bells...the pie shop-- the stonehendge-- etc.

[5:24] Tamryn Khandr: Everyone please click on the hud...when the menu comes down click on Abilities - then click on Push them...

[5:27] JennaRose Carfield is completely new to this, and have no idea how to target.
[5:27] Tamryn Khandr: The meter can be used as you know for various things.....take time to get to know what it is...and what iot can do...you could use push them as a spell or as a melee action...I will give you a example
[5:28] Brawen walks up slowly....she eyes Kiba..he has always been rude to her..even when she tried to help those he calls friends. She clenches her fists..and with a sudden movement lashes out attempting to push him down.
[5:28] Brawen attempts but misses performing Dark Hand on .
[5:29] Tamryn Khandr: I purposely did nto target him....but you all do remeber to make sure the person you wish the meter to act with or against is targetted.
[5:30] Tussilago Dagger raises hand "how is the resisting done? is it automatic?"
[5:30] Tamryn Khandr: It is automatic....the meter already factors in the person you are targeting stats as well as yours

[5:34] Tamryn Khandr: Lets go back to character developement for a moment - WE spoke of your character and the time and effort you make in its image.....lets speak of its character/reactions.....Let your character evolve or devolve as things or events happen to them.....if you are attacked...killed.... your character would haev soem sort of reaction....ior if it falls in love or obsessed with things or people...allow that to show through..it does not haev to be in your face..it can be subtle....
[5:35] Tamryn Khandr: Thi is a Dark RP sim-- what does that mean?
[5:35] Tobyus Flanagan: You can and will get hurt.
[5:35] JamesSr Juneberry: it contains dark contence

[5:35] Shaktar Woodford: rape murder torture
[5:35] Tamryn Khandr: right
[5:37] Tamryn Khandr: Not all players want to be rapist or murderers or torturers....but do allow your character to explore what you feel their limits are..you could manupliate others to cause their reactions...I am not talking of gomoding..I am speaking of well here is a example
[5:40] Brawen has been talking to Tuss for several moments...she looks at her thoughtfully: So you have chosen to work at the Hospital...could you be dear and let me know some things about Dr. Lux..' she smiles shyly as though she has a crush on him..." he is very handsome..but he ..he is such a great man...I just can not bring myself to speak to him: she eyes the girl hoping she does not give away the real reasons she wants to know of Dr. Lux.

[5:44] Tobyus Flanagan: I know it is covered in other classes but I am still confused on the Challange Rule. two posts with time for the other to respond before combat... but I thought after the challange rule was met... it could turn into a meter fight if it happens, been told that, but also been told that if int he RP zone, it can only be roleplayed combat. Which is it?
[5:51] Tamryn Khandr: The challange rule is for both types of combat down on the rp floor....I would encourage you to use it for any meter action. for three reasons: 1. The meter is a RP tool and can not speak in the voice of your character. 2. It allows the "target" to know what is happening...think about it..you are casting a spell and it is a heal...someone may be unfocused and think you are attacking them...the two lines allows them the knowledge . 3. It is simply good form... in the actual combat zones..such as the hell zone...the challenge rule is not needed or expected.

[5:52] Maeglin Velde: I'm afraid I didn't understand the answer. Are you saying that either form is acceptable on the gaming zone floor?
[5:52] Tamryn Khandr: I am saying that the Challenge rule is for the meter combat...and role- played combat
[5:52] Maeglin Velde: Ah, thank you.
[5:53] Tobyus Flanagan: So, if the Challange Rule is met, it can be a pure meter fight on the roleplay floor? Then the two line of posts after if one is defeated?
[5:53] Tamryn Khandr: the exception - combat Zones- like the hell abyss..and the regular abyss
[5:53] Tamryn Khandr: yesh
[5:53] Tamryn Khandr: exactly
[5:54] Tobyus Flanagan: Okay.
[5:54] Tamryn Khandr: you do not need a ST/Mod for a purely metered combat fight...
[5:55] Tamryn Khandr: but if it switches to the dice roll area...you definately do...
[5:55] Tamryn Khandr: Is that clear? Also remeber after each attack there is a short cool down period
[5:55] Tamryn Khandr: on the meter
[5:56] Tamryn Khandr: any other questions?
[5:56] Tobyus Flanagan: But both should have to at least agree to a pure meter fight? Just so OOC Drama is avoided?

[5:57] Tobyus Flanagan: Rape or sex.
